Recruitment starts for three NHS trust non-executive directors
Applications are open for three new exciting job opportunities to join the Board of a local mental health and learning disability NHS trust.
Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) is looking for three outstanding non-executive directors to help shape its services for the future. The successful candidates will have a genuine commitment to improving patient care. They will be jointly responsible for setting the Trust’s objectives and scrutinising its performance over the next three years. One of the three posts will be filled with an applicant who has substantial recent financial experience and is likely to also hold the Audit Committee Chair role within the Trust.
LPFT employs around 2,000 staff and spends £100 million a year providing services from over 50 locations across the county. The Trust has been rated Good overall by the Care Quality Commission with mental health services for children and young people being rated as Outstanding.
In NHS foundation trusts non-executive directors serve a term of three years and can only serve a maximum of six years ensuring regular refreshing, independent challenge and new ideas. The new non-executive directors will start their appointment around February-June 2019.
LPFT Chair, Paul Devlin said a recent assessment of the skills, abilities and behaviours required by the board set out the calibre of candidates they require.
“We are seeking three individuals to join our board, to bring support and constructive challenge, and help lead the strategic direction of the Trust.
“Being a non-executive director is demanding, but very rewarding. You have the chance to join a highly capable board that prides itself on keeping patients at the heart of its decisions.
“The NHS continues to face challenges and we are no exception to these pressures. However, with focussed hard work on doing the very best we can for our patients and making the very best use of our resources, I am confident we will continue to lead a vibrant and successful Trust. This is an exciting time to join our organisation.”
The Trust will particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities; from black, asian and minority ethnic backgrounds and lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) people in order to help us better understand and serve our local communities.
The appointment of non-executive directors is made by the Trust’s Council of Governors, an elected body which represents service users, carers, the general public, staff and key stakeholders.
