Sixteen riders from Merseyside Police are setting off from their headquarters in Liverpool city centre and are cycling up to 200 miles to the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire to raise money for Care of Police Survivors (COPS) – a charity that helps families of fallen colleagues during their most difficult times.
COPS is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping surviving families rebuild their lives after the death of a police officer. It aims to provide the survivors with all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy whilst remaining part of the police family.
After three days of riding the cyclists will join hundreds of others taking part in the UK Police Unity Tour to observe a memorial service at the Arboretum, with family members of officers who have been sadly killed on duty.
